We classify Splash and Outclass designs based on the complexity and size of the design area.
The complexity level of each design will be discussed with the Client before site measurements or design work begins.

Simple design spaces require less measuring and have simple topography.
Moderate design spaces typically have intricate topography that requires the use of special modeling techniques, and have a certain amount of existing vegetation and separate structures to measure.
Complex design spaces have substantial amounts of existing plants, several additional structures or complex buildings, and oftentimes have had topography altered by recent development that requires on-site topography measurements.
Design complexity is subject to change if new information deems it necessary. ERA will never upgrade or downgrade your design complexity without prior discussion between the Client and ERA.

Make a Splash with your landscape plan that covers all the basics, from earthworks to diverse native plants.
Our most popular design level works with your existing landscape features, showing how to integrate rain gardens into the area. Plants are placed in the rainscape based on their moisture, sunlight and aesthetic contributions in each season. This design level does not include reworking existing beds.

For large rainscapes that make a big impression and re-build an ecosystem all the way around your space.
For a complete landscape plan including added buildings, paths, and special features, this design has it all. Earthwork placement is based on watershed analysis and forms the foundation of these landscape designs. Paths meander through the gardens following a natural flow. An abundance of native plants are shown in the landscape (including in existing beds) with meticulous attention to their placement, to create a designer ecosystem.
